DANGEROUS DUPLICITY  HAS BEEN LAUNCHED!
Readers take note! Sherry Joyce's second romantic suspense is available on Goodreads and Amazon in paperback or Kindle.
The setting is in El Dorado Hills, California, Tribeca, New York and St. Paul de Vence. Evan Wentworth is a young cop unable to deal with a traumatic tragedy and changes his career by attending Parsons School of Design.

He becomes a highly successful Jackson Pollock-like contemporary artist and falls in love with Aurora Banfield, the gallery owner. He takes a vacation to St. Paul prior to his final exams and becomes embroiled in solving the murder of the controller of one of the largest charter yachting companies in Nice, France. He meets Danielle DuBois, a young woman who changes the way he looks at life and soon finds himself captivated by her. Her father's partner at Gaspard Yachting, Ryan Coltrane, is a prime suspect in the controller's murder. Evan Wentworth investigates the controller's murder and becomes suspicious of Ryan. Could he be involved with the murder? Is he who he says he is, or someone else who might be tied to a murder in El Dorado Hills as well.

A gripping tale of deception, heartache and love

When a romance novel opens not with a crime of passion but a conspired, premeditated murder, there should be no doubt that the book is not your typical boy meets girl, boy and girl fall in love and live happily ever after fairytale. The Dordogne Deception is a sordid, dark romantic thriller.

Most of the book is told from two perspectives; Brett who is investigating the death of his friend/mentor and Cherise who is living a fairytale life in a French chateau. These two have never met and have no idea that their lives will unexpectedly clash together which may cost both of them their lives. The two different viewpoints occur concurrently which gives the readers the advantage of knowing much more than the characters making the convergence of the perspectives that much more exciting.

Sherry Joyce gives enough backstory for each character so that readers will understand their personalities and motivations. Cherise is trying to overcome the shock of her sudden divorce and trying to make a fresh start by buying a bed and breakfast in the French countryside. Francois is looking for an unsuspecting, vulnerable, wealthy woman to target next in his lifelong scheme of acquiring wealth. Brett is a retired Scotland Yard detective who is trying to get back in the world after the death of his wife. Diana is a young opportunist whose goal in life is to find a rich man to take care of her. Joyce does an amazing job of weaving the lives of these four people together in a wonderfully surprising mix of tragedy and getting another chance at love.

The pace of the book is a bit sluggish at times but the primary reason for that is because the reader can feel the anxiety of the characters and you want to beg for relief from the tension. You will be eager for the story to peak when all of the secrets get revealed and the characters show their true colors.

The Dordogne Deception is a masterfully written plot which will appeal to readers who enjoy books of the romance and suspense/thriller genres, alike. The combination of lies, conspiracy, betrayal, murder, heartache, and love with a touch of the whimsical, all set against the backdrops of the English and French countryside’s  is a wonderful surprise and delight for readers.

It's a story of how families protect each other, how we struggle to move past tragedy, the secrets we keep from one another to avoid hurting those we love and living with the consequences of dishonesty. Can love survive betrayal and duplicity? Is there justice in the way we want it, or do we have to live with the surprising twists life hands us instead? Dangerous Duplicity will take you through lavender fields, to the ancient ramparts of St. Paul, to multi-million dollar yachts on the Cote d' Azur.

PRAISE FOR THE NOVEL
Sherry Joyce weaves the most intricate, complex plots together with unforgettable characters in settings that come alive on the page and keep you up at night, unable to put the book down."

Fantastic book launch party was held on 4/28/17 at Talisman Collection, 4357 Town Center Blvd., El Dorado Hills, hosted by owner, Andrea Riso. The event was exceptionally well-attended, with sexy-sax music by Alan Cole of the Blind Pilots, fabulous wine by Jim and Sherrie Everhart of  Hart2Hart cellars, to-die-for treats from Becki Tyner, owner, The Chocolate Architect, and delicious catering by Diane Wilkinson. Special thanks to other authors, fans, friends and new interested readers who bought the book, some even reading the book at Talisman during the event!

I dedicated this novel to my husband's little sister, Mary, who died from cystic fibrosis at age 12.  Dealing with the grief from loss of a child is one of the most difficult traumatic events a parent can endure.  Dangerous Duplicity deals with grief, the struggles, the blame, the emotional suffering, but it also is a story written to give readers hope—love and compassion can help heal the wounds of  grief.

Partial proceeds from book sales will go to Cystic Fibrosis.

Stunned, beautiful and successful Silicon Valley executive Cherise Eden never saw her divorce coming.  With a lucrative payout from her job, she flees San Francisco to start a new life in  the Dordogne region of Southwestern France buying Roufillay, a well-established posh bed and breakfast castle.

Seductive and irresistible, Francois Delacroix arrives,  sweeping Cherise off her feet, ensnaring her unwittingly down a dangerous path of deception.  Lives, lies and lust intertwine as danger approaches.  Trapped and frantic, Cherise needs an ally.  But can she trust Brett Maxfield, a retired Scotland Yard detective?

It has all the right ingredients - intertwined characters and circumstances,
well-described settings, suspense, romance and let's not forgetthat sprinkle of spice.

The author does an extraordinary job of
bringing  readers into the unique atmosphere of the ancient château.  Early  reviews are very positive with readers commenting on the
well-written  descriptions of the château, the countryside and how well the author built the  characters and story line.  Many said they couldn't put it down!   Madame Isabelle Grassé, the actual owner of the château, is quite excited  about the book and pleased that her château the centerpiece of this novel.
